Hope for the spina bifida patients

The story of Clinton

Clinton was 12 years old and still wearing a nappy. It was 1994, Clinton was one of my patients at Maitland Cottage Hospital where I worked.  I was very keen to find out more about his condition and see if I could do anything to help him.

I accompanied him to the Spinal Defects clinic at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, where my interest turned into a passion. 21 years later, I am still volunteering at the clinic.

In October 2014, the role players of the clinic, with a group of dedicated parents of children with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus launched ASBAH SA ( Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus South Africa )

To achieve all that I’ve done, I was supported by amazing people along my path through the years.

I’ve been blessed to have my husband, Hardie, and my children sustain me.

I’m employed by GOD and I trust He will direct me further.
